Bhubaneswar: In another step towards strengthening Odisha’s industrial ecosystem and accelerating job-led economic growth, the Mohan Majhi government on Wednesday approved 11 industrial investment proposals worth Rs 1,332.80 crore.
The approvals were granted during the 143rd meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), presided over by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. These initiatives are projected to create approximately 7,474 jobs, aligning with the government’s focus on job-driven economic expansion.
According to an official release, the projects encompass sectors such as metal ancillary and downstream industries, food and seafood processing, textiles and apparel, chemicals, green hydrogen and green ammonia, tourism, logistics, coal beneficiation, and IT & Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), underscoring Odisha’s push toward a diversified, sustainable, and forward-looking industrial framework.
These will come up seven districts of Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda and Mayurbhanj, ensuring regionally balanced industrial development and expanded employment opportunities.
Key approved projects are as follows:
Metal and downstream sector
Kalinga Copper Private Limited will set up a copper foil manufacturing unit in Dhenkanal with an investment of Rs 150 crore, creating 200 jobs, while M M Castings Private Limited will invest rs 65 crore in Ganjam to manufacture high manganese steel crusher parts, generating 330 jobs.
Food processing & textiles
Pasupati Agrovet Private Limited will invest Rs 200 crore in a shrimp processing unit in Khurda, creating 700 jobs, and Sree Lakshmi Apparels Private Limited will invest Rs 60 crore in a readymade garments unit in Cuttack, generating 1,250 jobs.
Chemicals & green energy
Universal Industries will set up an Agro chemical unit in Jagatsinghpur with an investment of Rs 220 crore and 215 jobs, while Sara Green Energy Private Limited will invest Rs 250 crore in a 20,000 MT green ammonia project in Ganjam, creating 47 jobs.
Tourism and logistics
Khimji Retail Venture Private Limited will develop a four-star luxury resort in Mayurbhanj with an investment of Rs 50.85 crore and 177 jobs, and Steels and Carriers Private Limited will establish a private freight terminal in Angul with an investment of Rs 159.75 crore, generating 255 jobs.
Coal
IT and ESDM, Sapient Coal Beneficiation Private Limited will set up a coal beneficiation plant in Angul with an investment of Rs 58.20 crore and 300 jobs; Quarks Technosoft Private Limited will invest Rs 68 crore in software development in Khordha, creating 2,500 jobs; and Sourcing brains Lab Private Limited will invest Rs 51 crore in an ESDM unit in Khordha for telematics devices and smart meters, generating 1,500 jobs.
