Mumbai: After delivering back-to-back hits ‘Chhaava’ and ‘Dhurandhar’, it seems Akshaye Khanna doesn’t want to compromise on his image and remuneration.
Just days after the announcement of ‘Drishyam 3’ release date, Akshaye reportedly walked out of the film over low salary.
Akshaye, who joined the crime thriller franchise with ‘Drishyam 2’ in 2022, played the role of IG Tarun Ahlawat, a close friend and colleague of Meera Deshmukh (played by Tabu).
Akshaye was most recently seen in Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’. While Ranveer Singh played the lead role, Akshay’s impromptu entry dance in the film on the song ‘FA9LA’ made him an overnight sensation across internet.
In the Vicky Kaushal-starrer period drama ‘Chhava’, Akshaye played Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and was lauded for his powerful performance.
Akshaye will next be seen in the Telugu film, ‘Mahakali’. Written by Prasanth Varma of Hanuman fame and helmed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, ‘Mahakali’ is a superhero film.
