Mumbai: Janhvi Kapoor paid a nostalgic tribute to her late mother, Sridevi, this Halloween by recreating her iconic look from the 1986 film ‘Nagina’.
Sharing pictures of her transformation on social media, the actor described it as one of the most iconic moments in Indian cinema, prompting fans to reminisce about Sridevi’s unforgettable screen presence.
From the pink outfit and statement jewellery to the make-up and hairstyle, Janhvi paid close attention to every detail of her mother’s ‘Nagina’ look.
She also roped in Orry to recreate the film’s poster and memorable scenes, including one featuring Amrish Puri.
Sharing the pictures, Janhvi captioned her post: “Happy Halloweeeeeny 👻 had to recreate one of the most iconic movie moments everrrrr 🐍🤍✨

In ‘Nagina’, Sridevi portrayed an icchadhaari naagin — a shape-shifting serpent — in a revenge drama.
Her performance earned widespread appreciation, and the film went on to become the second-highest-grossing release of the year, according to an IMDb list.
The film was later followed by a sequel, ‘Nigahen’, although it failed to replicate the box-office success of the original. ‘Nagina’, meanwhile, proved to be a major milestone in Sridevi’s career, propelling her to superstardom and establishing her as one of the industry’s most bankable female stars.
Sridevi died in Dubai on February 24, 2018, at the age of 54. She had travelled to the city to attend a family wedding and died due to accidental drowning.
Her sudden demise sent shockwaves through the film industry and left millions of fans mourning her loss.
Her death came just months before Janhvi was set to make her much-anticipated Bollywood debut with ‘Dhadak’, which released in July 2018.
Meanwhile, Janhvi recently appeared on season 9 of ‘Koffee with Karan’, where she reflected on the controversy surrounding her role in the Telugu film ‘Peddi’.
The actor admitted that she should have been more assertive in expressing her discomfort with the sexualisation and problematic portrayal of her character.
