India Condemns Pakistan Airstrikes on Kabul Hospital

New Delhi: India has strongly condemned Pakistan’s strikes on a hospital in Kabul, calling the attack a “barbaric” and “cowardly” act after the Taliban regime accused Islamabad of killing at least 400 people in an airstrike on a drug rehabilitation hospital late on Monday.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, India’s Foreign Ministry denounced the strikes on Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital as “a cowardly and unconscionable act of violence that has claimed the lives of a large number of civilians in a facility which can by no means be justified as a military target.”
The ministry accused Pakistan of trying “to dress up a massacre as a military operation,” deeming the assault a “heinous act of aggression by Pakistan” that constitutes “a blatant assault on Afghanistan’s sovereignty and a direct threat to regional peace and stability.”
New Delhi further criticized the attack as emblematic of Islamabad’s “persistent pattern of reckless behaviour” and repeated bids to “externalise internal failures through increasingly desperate acts of violence beyond its borders.”
“That this attack was carried out during the holy month of Ramzan, a time of peace, reflection, and mercy among Muslim communities across the world, makes it all the more reprehensible. There is no faith, no law, and no morality that can justify the deliberate targeting of a hospital and its patients,” the statement emphasized.
India called on the international community to ensure accountability for this “criminal act” and end Pakistan’s civilian targeting in Afghanistan.
It extended “deepest condolences” to bereaved Afghan families, wished swift recovery to the injured, and pledged unwavering solidarity with Afghanistan’s people while reaffirming support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Pakistan has, meanwhile, firmly rejected the accusations insisting its airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan targeted no civilian infrastructure.
