Bhubaneswar: Odisha may continue to experience stormy weather conditions till March 21, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.
The weather agency has also predicted a gradual fall in the day temperature by 2-3°C after 3-4 days.
There is a yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph for districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Gajapati till March 18 morning. Similar weather conditions may prevail in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts during the subsequent 24 hours, and Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Gajapati on March 19.
On March 20, orange warning of thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and hail along with gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 50-60 kmph has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh and Sambalpur. There is also yellow warnings with wind speed up to 40-50 kmph for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada and Balangir, and wind speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph for Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kendrapada, Khurda, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.
While orange warning continues for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore on March 21, yellow warnings have been sounded for Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Rayagada districts.
