Bhubaneswar: The three-day techno-cultural fests ‘Chakravyuha’ and ‘Genesis’ commenced on Friday at Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the faculty of engineering under Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University, bringing together innovation, creativity and cultural excellence.
The festival was inaugurated by SOA vice-chancellor Pradipta Kumar Nanda, who was the chief guest.
Addressing students, he highlighted ITER’s achievement of securing 22nd position among engineering institutions in India in the NIRF Rankings 2025 and urged them to take pride in their institution while striving to build a global identity.
SOA Pro Vice-Chancellor Prashant Kumar Patra encouraged students to equip themselves with modern knowledge and skills to excel in a competitive world.
ITER Dean Pradeep Kumar Sahu emphasised the institute’s strong focus on research and technological advancement, while ITER Director Manas Kumar Mallik noted its growth into a leading educational hub over the past 25 years, supported by active student clubs and initiatives such as NCC, NSS, and the Atal Incubation Center.
The programme began with a welcome address by Additional Dean (Student Affairs) Renu Sharma, followed by remarks from Chief Warden Ranjan Kumar Mallik, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Additional Warden Debahuti Mishra.
The festival will feature a series of technical competitions and cultural performances by renowned artists.
Adding a special touch, students and children supported through the ‘Jago’ initiative presented captivating dance performances during the inauguration ceremony.
