Mumbai: A recent social media post by Rupali Ganguly, questioning Alia Bhatt’s leather outfit at Milan Fashion Week, has sparked an online debate, with many wondering if it was a subtle dig at the actress’s high-fashion appearance.
Rupali, who is vocal about animal welfare, shared a video on her Instagram story in which a man is seen criticising Alia for allegedly wearing leather outfit, apparently made from the skin of young calves.
In the video, a man named Sai Lohith, questions Alia, “Is this what you support, Alia?”
The man further analyses Alia’s look at Milan Fashion Week, claiming that the outfit is made from “3-month-old baby calves and 4-month-old baby lambs.”
“Your cat, Edward, how would you feel if someone murdered your son and used his skin to make bags and shoes?” the man is heard saying in the video.
He also questions ‘Coexist by Alia Bhatt’, an initiative through which the actress aims to promote harmony between humans and animals.
Rupali did not directly comment on Alia’s outfit. However, by sharing the video on her social media, it seemed like a subtle criticism.
Given her strong support for animal welfare, the post appears to reflect a question she may want to raise.

In a recent conversation with The Times of India, Rupali spoke about her deep affection for dogs and other animals. “I always say that I have the spirit of a tigress, the soul of an elephant, and the loyalty of a dog.”
She added, “I can’t function without my fur babies; they keep me sane.”
On the work front, Alia is set to return to the big screen with YRF’s female led spy thriller ‘Alpha’. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film also features Sharvari, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol in key roles.
