Bhubaneswar: In view of ongoing infrastructure work at Puri Railway Station, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced an extension of temporary changes to several train services throughout May 2026.
Trains will continue to be short-terminated or short-originated at nearby stations to facilitate platform upgrades and related development works. The modifications aim to improve passenger amenities, operational efficiency, and the overall handling capacity of Puri station, a key pilgrimage centre in Odisha, the ECoR release said.
Short Termination/Origination at Malatipatapur
The following trains will be affected at Malatipatapur on the specified dates in May 2026:
12146 Puri–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express will short originate on 19th and 26th.
12145 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Puri Express will short terminate on 17th and 24th.
12993 Gandhidham–Puri Express will short terminate on 15th, 22nd, and 29th.
12994 Puri–Gandhidham Express will short originate on 18th and 25th.
15643 Puri–Kamakhya Express will short originate on 23rd and 30th.
15644 Kamakhya–Puri Express will short terminate on 21st and 28th.
22973 Gandhidham–Puri Express will short terminate on 20th and 27th.
22974 Puri–Gandhidham Express will short originate on 23rd and 30th.
17480 Tirupati–Puri Express will short terminate on multiple dates: 15th, 16th, 18th–20th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th–27th, 29th, and 30th.
17479 Puri–Tirupati Express will short originate on 17th, 18th, 20th–22nd, 24th, 25th, 27th–29th, and 31st.
22201 Sealdah–Puri Duronto Express will short terminate on 18th, 20th, 22nd, 25th, 27th, and 29th.
22202 Puri–Sealdah Duronto Express will short originate on 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 26th, 28th, and 30th.
22909 Valsad–Puri Express will short terminate on 21st and 28th.
22910 Puri–Valsad Express will short originate on 17th and 24th.
20917 Indore–Puri Humsafar Express will short terminate on 19th and 26th.
20918 Puri–Indore Humsafar Express will short originate on 21st and 28th.
20472 Puri–Sri Ganganagar Express will short originate on 20th and 27th.
20471 Sri Ganganagar–Puri Express will short terminate on 17th and 24th.
15640 Kamakhya–Puri Express will short terminate on 17th and 24th.
15639 Puri–Kamakhya Express will short originate on 19th and 26th.
Services Affected at Sakhi Gopal (May 16-31)
18303 Sambalpur–Puri Intercity Express will short terminate at Sakhi Gopal.
18304 Puri–Sambalpur Intercity Express will short originate from Sakhi Gopal.
Services Affected at Khurda Road (May 16-31)
18125 Rourkela–Puri Express will short terminate at Khurda Road.
18126 Puri–Rourkela Express will short originate from Khurda Road.
68413 Talcher–Puri MEMU will short terminate at Khurda Road.
68414 Puri–Talcher MEMU will short originate from Khurda Road.
68441 Jaleswar–Puri MEMU will short terminate at Khurda Road.
68442 Puri–Jaleswar MEMU will short originate from Khurda Road.
To minimise inconvenience, the ECoR will continue to operate free bus services for valid ticket holders between the affected stations and Puri station during this period. Passengers have advised to check the latest train running status on the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or official railway websites/apps before starting their journey.
