Brahmapur: The Brahmapur railway station in Odisha will be redeveloped into a world-class facility.
Making the announcement during an event here on Monday, Union Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw . said the project will be executed at an expenditure of Rs 300 crore.
“The Indian Railways will develop Brahmapur Railway Station into a world-class railway station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at an estimated cost of around Rs 300 crore,” said Vaishnaw.
According to Vaishnaw, the redeveloped Brahmapur station will become a landmark gateway for southern Odisha with state-of-the-art passenger amenities, modern architecture, enhanced accessibility and multimodal integration.
The Railway minister promised to visit Brahmapur again to participate in the foundation-laying ceremony for the redevelopment project.
Odisha is undergoing a massive railway infrastructure upgrade at an investment of Rs 90,000 crore. Dozens of railway stations, including Bhubaneswar and Puri, are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
