Mumbai: The wait is finally over for Indian fans of Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. The much-awaited international action thriller ‘7 Dogs’ is set to hit theatres in India on August 21, 2026.
Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the film combines Arab and Hollywood-style action and has already generated significant buzz across the Arab region.
Salman confirmed the India release date on Monday by sharing a new trailer cut tailored for Indian audiences on his Instagram Story. Towards the end of the trailer, the Egyptian leads, Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz, can also be heard in Hindi dubbing.
One of the biggest attractions for Indian audiences is the presence of Salman and Sanjay, who will make special appearances in the film. Italian actor Monica Bellucci is also part of the star-studded cast.
‘7 Dogs’ has been mounted on an unusually large scale for an Arab-language production, with the film reportedly made on a budget of nearly $40 million. According to GQ Middle East, it is among the most expensive films to emerge from the Arab region.
A significant portion of the film was shot at Al-Hosn Big Time Studios in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The makers have reportedly placed a strong emphasis on practical action, elaborate stunts and real explosions to give the thriller a larger-than-life scale.
The film has also made headlines for securing a Guinness World Record. ‘7 Dogs’ features what has been recognised as the largest film stunt explosion, with the blast reportedly equivalent to 170.7 tonnes of TNT. The feat surpassed the previous record associated with the James Bond films ‘Spectre’ and ‘No Time To Die’.
The story follows international Interpol agent Khalid Al-Azzazi, who successfully apprehends Ghali Abu Dawood, a key member of a secret global crime syndicate known as 7 Dogs.
However, a year later, the syndicate resurfaces while trafficking a dangerous new drug called Pink Lady across the Middle East. Khalid is then forced to team up with the only person who understands the inner workings of the criminal organisation.
Their covert mission takes them across several cities around the world as they attempt to bring down the syndicate.
Meanwhile, Salman will next be seen in Vamshi Paidipally’s action thriller, tentatively titled ‘SVC63’. The film marks his first on-screen collaboration with South Indian star Nayanthara.
Produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release during Eid 2027.
