Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government released the fifth instalment of financial assistance under the CM-KISAN scheme on Friday, benefiting more than 41 lakh farmer families across the state.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi transferred over Rs 833 crore into the bank accounts of beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) at a state level event held at the Krushi Shiksha Sadan of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar.
Officials said eligible beneficiaries will receive Rs 2,000 each through DBT.
The beneficiaries include small and marginal farmers, particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs), as well as landless farmer families.
The government said the financial assistance is intended to provide direct economic support to farming households and encourage them to continue and strengthen agricultural activities.
