Baragada: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband following a dispute at a village in Attabira area of Odisha’s Baragada district.
According to police sources, the incident took place at Gadatia Tikra village under the jurisdiction of Attabira police station late on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Bhagyabati Khadia. Her husband, Rajkumar Khadia, has been arrested on the charge of murdering her and is being interrogated by the Attabira police.
Sources said a dispute over some family issue between the couple allegedly escalated. In a fit of rage, Rajkumar brutally attacked his wife. The woman sustained critical injury and subsequently died.
Investigation is in progress to ascertain the exact sequence of events that led to the murder.
