Bhubaneswar: Three athletes from Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre (Odisha AM/NS GHPC), Bhubaneswar will represent India at major upcoming international events.
Olympian Pranati Nayak has been selected to compete at the 20th Asian Games, to be held in Japan’s Aichi-Nagoya from September 19 to October 4.
On the other hand, Tapan Mohanty and Satyajit Mondal will compete at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Hungary’s Szombathely from September 18 to 20.
Pranati, the lone Indian gymnast selected for the Asian Games, will compete in the Women’s Vault and Women’s All-Around events in Artistic Gymnastics.
Tapan will feature in Floor and Parallel Bars, and Satyajit in Vault at the FIG World Challenge Cup later this week.
“Pranati’s selection as India’s sole gymnast for the Asian Games, and Tapan and Satyajit’s selection for the FIG World Challenge Cup is a significant achievement and reflects their consistency, discipline and determination. At the Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre, our focus is on providing athletes with the training and support required to compete at the highest level. Pranati, who competed at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, has delivered strong performances consistently at national and international competitions. Earlier this year, she won silver at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Tashkent and gold at the 54th All India Railway Gymnastics Championship, besides representing India at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
In 2025, Pranati bagged bronze at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships and the FIG Apparatus World Cup, and secured one gold, one silver and one bronze at the 38th National Games.
Tapan and Satyajit earned their places in India’s six-member Men’s Artistic Gymnastics team for the FIG World Challenge Cup after competing against 50 elite athletes.
