Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the festive season, Odisha Police is set to launch a special statewide operation, ‘Daman’, from Monday to crack down on criminal and anti-social activities.
As part of the 10-day drive, police will maintain strict surveillance on the movements of criminals and anti-social elements across the state. Preventive legal measures will be taken, along with the execution of non-bailable warrants against wanted accused.

Strict legal action will also be taken against cases of extortion and organised crime, police said.
As part of the operation, border areas will be closely monitored, with measures including the blocking and sealing of vulnerable routes to prevent the movement of criminals and illegal activities across state borders.
The District Police, Railway Police, Commissionerate Police and other concerned police units will conduct the operation in close coordination.
