Bhubaneswar: The Tripathy Committee, set up to examine long-standing issues of teachers across Odisha, submitted its report to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at a high-level meeting in Lok Seva Bhawan on Monday.
The chief minister is expected to make an announcement on the recommendations during the Assembly session beginning Tuesday.
The panel, chaired by retired IAS officer Ashok Kumar Tripathy with former bureaucrat Sudarshan Nayak as co-chairman, was constituted on December 6, 2025 and reconstituted on February 3, 2026. Members included Shantanu Kumar Sahu, Manoranjan Mishra, and convenor Sanatan Panda.
Tasked with reviewing demands of teaching and non-teaching staff in aided and private institutions under the School & Mass Education and Higher Education departments, the committee consulted representatives of 104 teachers’ associations, held 90 meetings, and submitted 79 reports before finalizing its recommendations.
The submission coincided with a protest by primary school teachers under the State Primary Teachers (Ex-Cadre) Mahasangha at Lower PMG in the state capital.
Senior officials including School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Development Commissioner DK Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Saswata Mishra, and secretaries of Finance, Higher Education, and School & Mass Education departments attended the meeting.
The recommendations will be examined and appropriate decision will be taken after due consideration, Majhi said.
The report is expected to guide government action on service conditions, recruitment, and institutional reforms for teachers across Odisha.
