Mumbai: Actor-activist Prakash Raj has announced that YouTuber Dhruv Rathee will join the anti-SIR protest at Bengaluru’s Freedom Park on Wednesday.
In a post on X, Prakash Raj urged people to turn up in large numbers and later revealed Rathee as the protest’s “surprise guest”.
“Hi everyone. In the morning video, I had promised you that we will be announcing a very special guest. A voice with a spine. Who will be joining us at Freedom Park, Bengaluru. That’s none other than Dhruv Rathee. Dhruv Rathee first time in Bengaluru! In support of scrap SIR!” the veteran actor said in a video message.
He added, “Please come in large numbers! Stand with all the cockroaches who will be there. Aishe Ghosh will be there. Neha Bora will be there. All young organisations will be there. Civil Society will be there. And the victims of SIR from across the districts of Karnataka will be there. Let’s come together to raise our voice in solidarity against this draconian SIR!”

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), founded and led by Abhijeet Dipke, is set to organise a mass “Chappal protest” and People’s Tribunal at Bengaluru’s Freedom Park on October 8, 2026. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
Prakash Raj had earlier also appealed to people to attend the protest and tribunal, saying they would address concerns surrounding SIR and its impact on citizens.
Meanwhile, Abhijeet Dipke travelled to Bengaluru to attend the People’s Tribunal on SIR and interact with local residents who allegedly had their names removed from the voters’ list.
On Thursday morning, Dipke is set to hold the “Chappal protest” at Freedom Park. He is also scheduled to stage a protest in Delhi on October 10, calling for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.
