Bhubaneswar: Girls outperformed boys in the annual Plus II science
examination-2017, the results for which were declared by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) here on Friday.

“A total of 81.11 per cent students cleared Plus II science
examination this year. Girls fared better than boys with a
pass percentage of 82.36 per cent. The pass percentage of boys stood at 80.29 per cent,” school and mass education
minister Badrinarayan Patra said, releasing the results at the CHSE
office here.

This year, among the districts, the highest pass percentage of 93.61 per cent was recorded in Balasore, while the lowest of 52.51 per cent was registered in Jharsuguda.

Three colleges — Krushna Priya Devi Women’s College (Nayagarh),
Binayak Junior College (Jeypore) and Tapoban College of Science and
Technology (Puri) — recorded zero results.

A total of 19,087 students successfully cleared their papers in
first division. A total of 26, 322 secured second division, while 27, 597 got the third division.

The candidates can check their results on the official websites
chseodisha.nic.in and orissaresults.nic.in. They can also apply for
rechecking from today till May 29, board sources said.
