Paradip: Paradip Port added another feather to its cap by successfully completing movement of 30 vessels within 24 hours, beginning from 7.30am on Monday to 7.30am on Tuesday.
The thirty vessels included 10 incoming vessels, nine outgoing vessels, three shifting vessels and eight shipping support vessels. This kind of shipping enormously contributes towards enhancing cargo through the port. At present, 39 vessels are still waiting at the anchorage point to enter the harbour.
Paradip port is now gearing up to enhance cargo as it is vying for the coveted top position in the country with a slew of other infrastructure and modernisation facilities.
Last fiscal, it clocked 109.27 MMT Cargo handling mark and secured second position among the major ports of India.
It is aiming for 120 MMT cargo handling mark in this fiscal.
“Today’s achievement will definitely help fulfil this fiscal’s aim, port chairman Rinkesh Roy said.
The previous record stood at 27 vessels handled by PPT in a period of 24 hours on October 15, 2018.
