ASI Completes Post-Fani Repair Work Of Jagannath Temple
Puri: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Monday said repair of damage to the Jagannath Tmple in Puri by Cyclone Fani had been completed on time.
“As per Archaeologicial Survey of India director-general Usha Sharma’s directive, we have completed post-cyclone repair work at the temple on Snana Purnima day,” ASI superintendent Arun Kumar Mallick told mediapersons here.
Stating that the Jaya-Vijay idols outside the main temple, damaged during the cyclone, have been replaced, Mallick said the annual maintenance work of the temple will begin from Tuesday and be completed before Niladri Bije of the Lords.
