Koraput: A sub-inspector (SI) was injured when some assailants fired on a police van near Lamataput in Koraput district on Wednesday night.
The SI of Machakunda police station, Pradip Nayak, sustained bullet injuries in his neck and was rushed to the district headquarters hospital.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Nayak was on patrolling duty along with four other police personnel.
Police suspect involvement of ganja traffickers in the attack.
