Accused In Triple Murder Case Arrested In Odisha’s Kalahandi
Bhawanipatna: Four days after three persons including a woman and her minor son were murdered in Odisha’s Kalahandi district, police have arrested the accused.
Speaking to the media persons in Dharamgarh on Thursday, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dhiraj Kumar Chopdar said the accused in triple murder case in Junagarh in the district, Mahendra Majhi has been arrested and the knife used in the crime seized from his possession.
On the motive of the crime, the DSP said Mahendra, who had lost a kin recently, suspected that he was the victim of sorcery practice by the woman and killed her to take revenge. He killed the minor boy and an old man as they were accompanying her.
The villagers of Shankarpalli under Junagarh police limits spotted the three bodies with stabbing marks on the evening of October 1. The deceased included a 35-year-old woman from the village, her 2-year-old son and her neighbour.
