Bhubaneswar: The Solar World Congress on Friday honoured KIIT and KISS Founder Dr Achyuta Samanta in Delhi.
Dr Samanta’s felicitation, under the aegis of Solar Energy Society of India (SESI), was for promoting green initiatives at KIIT and KISS campuses, and harvesting solar power for day-to-day operations.
SESI president Praful Pathak felicitated Dr Samanta in the presence of India Meteorological Department Director General Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.
“Dr Samanta’s unwavering dedication to create awareness and implementing green energy technologies has had a profound impact on our community and the environment at large,” Pathak said.
The Solar World Congress organisers congratulated Dr Samanta for playing a stellar role in promoting education among indigenous children, and using renewable energy sources and green campuses inside KIIT and KISS.
SESI said in a statement that Dr Samanta is a source of inspiration for all to develop a clean, green and sustainable future on Earth.
KISS was earlier awarded the Energy Globe Award by the Energy Globe Foundation in Tehran in 2018 for its green efforts.
The six-day Delhi Solar World Congress is being organised under the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) from October 30. Delegates from across sectors like scientific research, engineering, architecture and industries from more than 50 nations are participating in the Congress to strategise a sustainable future.
