Founder of KIIT & KISS and Kandhamal MP Dr. Achyuta Samanta has been nominated as the Chief Patron of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI).
Secretary General, VFI, Ramavtar Singh Jakhar declared the name of Dr. Samanta as the Federation’s Chief Patron at the valedictory ceremony of 68th Senior National Volleyball Championship (Men & Women) 2019.
The executive committee of VFI decided to nominate Dr. Samanta as the Chief Patron after getting his consent.
He was offered the position in view of his immense contribution towards sports, games and sportspersons. “Dr. Samanta has been actively patronizing sports and games at the state, national and international level,” said Jhakhar.
The VFI will achieve new milestones in future under his guidance, he stated, adding, the sports body will implement the advices of Dr. Samanta for the development of Indian Volleyball.
Expressing his happiness over this development, Dr. Samanta thanked VFI and said, “I will try my best for the development of Volleyball in India and will work for the success of the Indian team in Olympics”.
