Active COVID Tally Inches Closer To 300 As Cases Spike In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: After a gap of one day, the daily COVID caseload went past 50 again on Tuesday with 53 people being found infected in the last 24 hours even as India saw a slight dip in infections compared to the previous day’s tally.
The state had reported 46 cases the previous day after a spike of 51 while 38, 25, 41, 22, 23, 12, 19, 24, 20 and 31 people were found infected in the preceding 10 days.
According to the I & PR department, 33 of the new cases are from quarantine and 22 local contacts with Khurda reporting the highest of 32.
Here are the district-wise figures of the new infections:
1. Balasore: 1
2. Cuttack: 4
3. Jagatsinghpur: 2
4. Jharsuguda: 1
5. Khurda: 32
6. Puri: 3
7. Sambalpur: 2
8. Sundargarh: 1
With these cases being detected from 11,749 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.45 per cent. Odisha now has 292 active cases
Despite cases being reported in two digits for the last 15 days from only 3 on May 31, there has been no substantial increase in testing, which remained between 10,000 and 12,000 against 20,000 last month.
