Bhubaneswar: With the south-west monsoon still active in Odisha, rainfall activity in the state will continue for the next three days with a heavy downpour at one or two places.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in a mid-day bulletin, on Monday said that while a monsoon trough now passes through the centre of a low-pressure area over west Rajasthan and neighbourhood close to the foothills of the Himalayas, another monsoon trough passes through SubHimalayan West Bengal to Manipur across Assam. Under its influence, there will be thunderstorm and lightning with heavy rainfall at one or two places in coastal, north and interior districts.
In view of the thundershower and heavy rainfall, IMD has issued yellow warning for the following districts.
August 31

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in coastal Odisha districts, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Mayurbhanj and Gajapati.
September 1
(Yellow warning)
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Malkangiri.
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in coastal Odisha, Balangir, Sonepur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
September 2

Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur and Balangir.

Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Bargarh, Nuapada, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.
