Mumbai: After directing three successful instalments of the ‘Krrish’ franchise, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan on Friday passed on the director’s hat to his son Hrithik Roshan for ‘Krrish 4.’
“Duggu 25yrs back I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers Aditya Chopra & myself to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4. Wish you all the success in this new avatar with good wishes and blessings!” Rakesh posted on his X handle.

As soon as the announcement was made, congratulatory messages started pouring in for the new director.
The actor’s girlfriend, Saba Azad re-shared the post on her Instagram stories and wrote, “Yessssss,” along with 3 heart emojis.
Reacting to this news, his sister Sunaina Roshan shared, “Krrish has been Papa and Duggu’s dream project since its inception, and watching them take this vision forward fills me with immense pride. Words can’t describe how excited I am to see Duggu step into the director’s role for #Krrish4. Just another amazing milestone for you and I couldn’t be prouder. Wishing you both all the success in bringing this dream to life @rakesh_roshan9 @hrithikroshan #ProudSister #Krrish4.”
She added, “So proud to see you, Duggu takes on this incredible milestone with #Krrish4.”
To be helmed by Hrithik, ‘Krrish 4’ will be bankrolled by Aditya Chopra.
“It brings me so much joy to see someone like Adi as the producer of Krrish 4. It was he who convinced Hrithik to sit in the director’s chair. Adi and Yash Raj Films have the knowledge, understanding and technological might to produce this film and add great value to this project,” Rakesh was quoted as saying by Pinkvilla.
Currently in the pre-production stage, ‘Krrish 4’ is expected to go on floors in early 2026.
