Aditya Death Case: Purushottam Express Did Not Hit Anybody, Says Loco Pilot

Bhubaneswar: The suicide angle of motivational speaker Aditya Das death case has come under doubt after the loco pilot of Purushottam Express denied running over anyone on the night when the former allegedly killed himself.

During interrogation by the Government Railway Police (GRP), which is investigating the case, loco pilot of Purushottam Express Bishnu Charan Sethi said nobody came under the train which crossed the Lingaraj Station Passenger Halt at around 8.30 pm on the night of the incident.

The train left Retang station at around 8.20 pm and reached Bhubaneswar at 8.40 pm. “As far as I remember, my train did not hit anybody between those stations. One can usually hear some sound if the engine hits something on the tracks,” Sethi is reported to have told the GRP.

A CCTV footage with the GRP shows that Aditya had gone to the railway station. His death took place around 8.30 pm, according to post-mortem report.

The autopsy report also revealed that he had sustained a head injury that led to his death. The GRP initiated a murder probe on the basis of the post-mortem reporet.

Aditya’s body was found from the railway tracks near the Lingaraj railway station, here on July 7.
