Advance Booking For Railway Ticket Extended To 30 Days
New Delhi: The period of advance booking for railway tickets has been increased from seven to 30 days for the special air-conditioned trains.
According to Railway Ministry sources, the reservation against cancellation (RAC) tickets or waiting list tickets will be issued for these trains. But the passengers in waiting list cannot board the train and there will be no ‘Tatkal’ booking.
The first reservation chart of these trains will be prepared four hours before scheduled departure and second chart two hours ahead. The new norms will be applicable from May 24 for trains starting on May 31 onwards.
With the coming resumption of train services, the Indian Railways has given green signal to the re-opening of reservation counters and booking through the Common Service Centres (CSCs) and also ticket agents.
The Railways had announced to run 200 special trains from June 1.
