After Bhubaneswar, Odisha Congress Unites BJP & BJD In Satirical Wedding Ceremony In Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Taking a swipe at alleged bonhomie between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha, Congress staged a mock wedding between the two political parties in Sambalpur on Wednesday.

Congress held the “marriage” ceremony over a month after it organised a similar programme at the Master Canteen Square in Bhubaneswar in January.

Alleging close ties between BJD and BJP their support for each other, senior Congress claimed that both the political parties have been in alliance for the last over 25 years.

Accusing BJD and BJP of misleading people by pretending to be opposing each other, former president of Sambalpur district Congress Ashwini Guru claimed that both the political parties have been working as partners in many wrongdoings.

“Both BJP and BJD have been misleading the people of the country, particularly in Odisha. We have organised the wedding ceremony to make people aware of the unholy alliance that exists between the two parties,” he claimed.

During the satirical ceremony, the pundit also conducted a yajna, “wedding” them off to highlight their perceived political camaraderie.

Guru said BJD is functioning as the brand ambassador and partner-in-life with the BJP.

Senior leaders of BJD and BJP were not immediately available to comment on the programme organised by Congress.
