Bhubaneswar: After BJP-led NDA’s spectacular victory in Bihar Assembly election, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is slated to visit Odisha on Saturday.
During his first visit to the state after Bihar win, Dharmendra is set to attend a series of events and lay the foundation stones for development projects. The Union Minister, who hails from Odisha and represents Sambalpur in Lok Sabha, was BJP’s election in-charge for Bihar Assembly poll.
Apart from visiting Puri to offer prayers at Shree Jagannath Temple, the Union Minister is slated to attend some programmes at Dhamnagar in Bhadrak district.
As per the sources, Dharmendra is scheduled to visit the historically and culturally significant site of Gohiratikiri. As part of his itinerary, he will pay floral tributes at the statue of Mukunda Deva, the last independent king of Odisha, and later visit a nearby monastery.
The Union Minister will also join the Ekta Padyatra (Unity March) organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The march is expected to draw wide participation, symbolizing unity and respect for Patel’s legacy.
Besides highlighting Odisha’s rich heritage, his visit will also mark a push for new developmental initiatives in the region as he is set to lay the foundation stone for some projects. These projects are aimed at strengthening local infrastructure and boosting tourism potential around Gohiratikiri, a site of historical and cultural importance.
