After Nabarangpur, Teachers In Odisha’s Sundargarh Dismissed From Service; Know Why

Rourkela: A day after 24 teachers were dismissed due to their absence from duty in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district, two teachers lost their jobs, and eight were issued show-cause notices in Sundargarh district on Saturday.

According to sources, all these teachers were found to be absent from their duties for years together.

They will all be dismissed from their jobs if they fail to give satisfactory answers.

Notably, the teachers were drawing salaries despite remaining absent for 12 years. They had been bunking duty since 2010 without applying for leave.

The State School and Mass Education Department has directed the District Education Officers (DEOs) to take stringent action against all those teachers who have remained absent without leave applications. As of now, the department has taken action against 154 junior teachers.
