New Delhi: Taking cognisance of the National Anti-Doping Agency’s (NADA) decision to provisionally suspend Bajrang Punia for an alleged rule violation, the United World Wrestling (UWW) on Thursday suspended the Tokyo Olympic bronze-medallist till the end of 2024.
The 30-year-old wrestler from Haryana was suspended by NADA on April 23 for refusing to undergo a dope test.
The world governing body mentioned that that Bajrang stands suspended.
“Suspended for the following reason until Dec 31, 2024. Provisionally suspended by NADA IND for alleged ADRV (Anti-Doping Rule Violation),” reads UWW’s update on Bajrang’s profile.
Bajrang told PTI he is yet to receive any communication from the UWW about his suspension.
