Washington: To say that Donald Trump is a one-of-its kind US President would be an understatement.
The things he does, the stuff he says and posts on social media have never been seen before.
In his recent ‘act’, Trump sent a message to Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, saying he no longer feels an obligation to think “purely of peace” after being ignored for the Nobel Peace Prize, according to the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
In his message addressed to Store, Trump linked Norway’s role in the Nobel Peace Prize award to his foreign policy views and security demands.
“Considering your country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America,” Trump wrote.
Questioning Denmark’s sovereignty over Greenland, Trump argued that neither Denmark nor existing security arrangements could protect the territory from major powers.
“Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a ‘right of ownership’ anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also,” the US President argued.
“I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States,” Trump claimed.
“The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland,” he affirmed.
Trump has consistently and repeatedly made public claims about his foreign policy record, and also that he was unfairly denied the Nobel Peace Prize.
Dozens of times, Trump has claimed that he “single-handedly ended eight wars”, and “saved millions of lives”.
Trump has also questioned why Barrack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, saying that he “didn’t do anything.”
