Kolkata: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee was on Friday discharged from SSKM Hospital after repeated requests from her.
A doctor who attended to her said that he responded well to the treatment and has been advised to review her condition after seven days.
The chief minister, who filed her nomination for the upcoming assembly elections from Nandigram, was injured on Wednesday evening when she was greeting people from her car. She alleged that a group of people had deliberately pushed her, resulting in injuries in ankle and foot, shoulder, forearm and neck.
She was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night.
X-rays and other tests were conducted on the TMC supremo, and she was closely monitored for nearly 48 hours as she complained of chest pain and breathlessness.
In a video message on Thursday, Mamata said she won’t cancel any scheduled meeting and will use a wheelchair if needed.
