AIIMS To Recruit 207 Junior Resident Doctors To Tackle COVID-19 In Delhi

New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said on Sunday that All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has begun the recruitment process for 207 more Junior Resident (JR) doctors in order to strengthen the Unior Territory’s battle against the pandemic, reported Odisha TV.

MBBS/BDS (with internship completion), or an MCI/DCI recognised equivalent degree is the eligibility criteria for JRs.

This move comes in light of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s analysis of the pandemic status in Delhi in the presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and as part of the Centre’s plan to aid city governments to deal with the pandemic with help from additional doctors.

Adding that more doctors will be reaching Delhi in a few days, the MHA has formed 10 multi-disciplinary teams to assess bed utilisation, testing capacities and identifying extra ICU beds in more than 100 private Delhi hospitals, under the directions from Union Home Minister.
