Bhubaneswar: Actor Pintu Nanda, who is suffering from liver cirrhosis, took a flight to New Delhi from Biju Patnaik Internation Airport in Odisha capital on Tuesday morning.
He would be admitted to Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) for liver transplantation, said family sources.
Actors, actresses, and Nanda’s well-wishers and fans saw him off at the Bhubaneswar airport and wished him a speedy recovery. “Your prayers and generous donations have given me the strength to go to Delhi. A lot of money is required for my treatment. I hope, it will be arranged. I feel that I will return and entertain you all once again,” said Pintu Nanda as he was being wheeled into the airport.
The actor is still falling short of the money required for his treatment. “So far, they have been able to arrange only 25 per cent of the entire treatment cost, which comes to around Rs 50 to Rs 60 lakh. I would request you all to help us raise the money for his treatment,” said Mitu Mithun, Odia actor.
He also requested Siddhant Mohapatra and Sritam Das to take up the issue with the Chief Minister. A donor would also be required for liver transplantation, he added.
