Air Quality Again Falls To Poor Category In Delhi
After a few days of relief, Delhi’s air quality has plunged back to the ‘poor’ category.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded on Sunday was 281 at DTU, Delhi and 213 at Mathura Road, according to the Central Pollution Control Board. The AQI at Ashok Vihar was 291, 277 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and 289 at Mundka.
An AQI between 0-50 is considered ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’ and 401-500 ‘severe’. Above 500 falls in the ‘severe-plus emergency’ category.
One of the reasons for the drop is low wind speed, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The overall AQI recorded in Delhi on November 1 was 480 .
