Akshay Kumar’s ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ Made Tax-Free In These States

Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath led the way in announcing tax exemption for ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ after watching the film with the cast members at a special screening in Lucknow on Thursday.

Two more BJP-ruled states – Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand — followed suit later in the day.

MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took to Twitter to announce that the Akshay Kumar-starrer will be tax-free in the state so that “maximum number of youth sees the movie and learn” about the life of Rajput ruler Samrat Prithviraj and a feeling of love can be “inculcated in them towards their motherland.”

The Chandra Prakash Dwivedi-directed film will hit the theatres on June 3. It marks former Miss World Manushi Chillar’s Bollywood debut.
