Mumbai: There is good news for Akshay Kumar fans who are itching to see his films on the big screen.
They don’t have to wait too much longer for his upcoming film ‘Bell Bottom’, a spy thriller which will release in theatres on May 28.
Based on the story of an aeroplane hijack during the 1980s, Bell Bottom has Akshay playing the role of a R&AW agent.
The espionage thriller stars Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Huma Qureshi in prominent roles. The film is written by Aseem Arora and Parveez Sheikh, directed by Ranjit M Tewari, and financed by Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.
Bell Bottom, initially scheduled to be shot in early 2020, got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was eventually shot abroad in Scotland in a start-to-finish schedule last October.
Thanking the cast and crew for helping complete the shoot during the pandemic, Akshay had tweeted: “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much. Its teamwork and I am grateful to each and every member of the cast and crew. #BellBottomCompleted.”
