Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding is, after all, taking place on April 14 — at the actor’s Bandra home Vastu.
Cousins, friends and acquaintances had been providing different dates – ranging from April 14, 15 and within 20 – for the wedding of the year. However, even as pre-wedding functions got underway with mehendi function on Wednesday morning, there was no confirmation from the bride, groom or their family members.
The secrecy was finally removed in the evening when Neetu and Riddhima, Ranbir’s mother and sister, respectively, faced the paparazzi.
As photographers asked the mother-daughter duo to talk about the wedding, Neetu and Riddhima initially tried to dodge those questions, as they have been doing for the past few days.
Riddhima then said: “Kal hai, chalo, kal hai (okay, it’s tomorrow).”
Pressed for the venue, Neetu said the wedding will take place at Vastu.
Asked to talk about Alia, Neetu and Riddhima showered compliments on the Gangubhai Kathiawadi actress.
“Mai kya bolu uske baare mein (What do I say about her). She is the best… God bless them,” Neetu said.
“Sweet, bahut cute, doll jaisi hai (She is very sweet and cute, like a doll),” added Riddhima.

Ranbir and Alia started dating in 2017, when they were shooting Ayan Mukerji’s film Brahmastra.
Ranbir said last year that the duo would have got married in 2020 itself, had it not been for the COVID-19 pandemic.
