All India Police Judo Cluster Championship To Be Held In Cuttack From Nov 15

Bhubaneswar: The third All India Police Judo Cluster Championship will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium and Sachin Tendulkar Hall in Cuttack from November 15 to 19.

As many as 1,200 contestants and 40 teams will participate in the championship.

Likewise, around 300 police officers and trainers from the police teams of several states and the central police team will also participate.

Categories of the events like gymnastics, Judo, Wushu and Taekwondo will be held in the championship.

To make this competition successful, a preparatory meeting under the chairmanship of DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma was held on Tuesday.

The Odisha Police in association with the State Sport and Youth Service will organise this event under the directions of All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB).

Many sub-committees were also made in the meeting to conduct the programmes smoothly. DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma is the chairman of the committee. Additional DGP Jogesh Bahadur Khurania, was selected vice-chairman and Binayatosh Mishra, the organising secretary.

Other police officers have taken charge of transportation, hotel facilities, release of souvenir, publications, media, medical examinations and protections etc. in the other sub committees.

A control room will be set up at the state police headquarters in Cuttack from November 7. Sub control rooms will be set up in the indoor stadium and Barbati Stadium from November `10.

Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty, SOG Commandant Anirudh Singh and Sports and Youth Service Department, Joint Secretary Manoj Kumar Padhi were present.
