Bhubaneswar: In an rare humanitarian gesture and show of compassion and humanity, Captain of an Ama Bus operated by Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), went beyond the call of duty to help a passenger in distress.
While operating Route 11 of the Ama Bus service, Captain Srikanta Jena came to know that a passenger’s mother was in critical condition at AIIMS Bhubaneswar and urgently needed blood.
The passenger, identified as Kailash Biswal, shared his plight during the bus ride.
After duty, Jena accompanied Kailash to the hospital, donated blood himself, and even arranged another donor, helping save the patient’s life.
Expressing gratitude, Kailash later sent a heartfelt message to CRUT. “Because of the help from Srikanta Bhai and the donor madam, my mother’s condition has now become stable. I sincerely thank both of them from the bottom of my heart. I especially want to thank your organization for having such kind and dedicated staff members,” he wrote in the letter.
