Bhubaneswar: Captain and guide of an ‘Ama Bus’, operating in Bhubaneswar, were suspended after a video, showing a passenger being physically assaulted by bus staff, went viral.
In a post on X, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), which operates the bus service, on Saturday said that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness. “Additional evidence from the bus is currently being collected for further investigation. Both captain and guide have been suspended with immediate effect,” it added.
The incident took place at 10.16 am on Friday. A co-passenger shared the video, alleging that a man was forcibly pushed off the bus at Pahala bus stop by an employee of the bus and thrashed. A female passenger, who protested, also faced aggression, the post said, seeking immediate action from CRUT.
