Hyderabad: In troubled times like these when wars in different countries, tariff wars, global climate warming are threatening our planet like never before, heartwarming incident are always welcome.
One such feel-good story has gone viral on social media recently.
An American woman travelled thousands of miles to meet and marry her Instagram friend in India who is nine years younger than her.
Jaclyn Forero, a divorcee with a kid, fell in love with Chandan Singh Rajput, who lives in a remote village in Andhra Pradesh. She saw his Instagram profile and was attracted by Chandan’s simplicity and warmth.
Their romance began with a ‘Hi’, 14 months ago.
Having spent weeks and months chatting and interacting over video calls and social media platforms, the couple is planning to tie the knot.
“14 months together and ready for a BIG new chapter,” Forero wrote on Instagram.
Sharing their interactions and moments together in a video clip, Forero revealed how a casual message turned into a memorable bonding.
“I messaged Chandan first. From his profile, I saw that he was a passionate Christian man who knew theology.”
His passions aligned with hers — music, art, and photography. “After 8 months dating online and getting my mother’s overwhelming approval, she and I flew to India for the trip of a lifetime,” Forero added.
She said people have been judgemental, supportive, rude, positive, awkwardly silent “and everything in between”.
She concluded the video saying, “The odds were stacked against us, but God has been miraculously opening doors and providing for us each step of the way. Because he (Jesus) brought us together and he’ll see us through.”
