The temperature in most parts of the state stood 2 to 4 degree above normal and the impact of cold got reduced considerably.

While Bhubaneswar recorded the minimum temperature of 15.8 degree Celsius (1.6 degree above normal), the night temperature stood at 15.5 degree Celsius in Cuttack (2 degree above normal).
The MeT Centre has forecast that some parts of the state are expected to experience light rain in the first week of January.

Dense fog was experienced in places like Phulbani, Khurda, Koraput, Daringbadi and Sonepur with visibility level getting reduced to around 50 metres.

Shallow to moderate fog was experienced in Bhawanipatna, Titlagarh, Keonjhar, Rourkela and Sambalpur.
