Anand Bazaar In Puri Jagannath Temple Opens To Devotees To Have Mahaprasad

Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Wednesday announced that the devotees can go inside the temple on all days of the week and the Anand Bazaar will be opened to them.

Speaking to media here, SJTA Chief Administrator Krishan Kumar Devotees said the devotees will now be allowed to enter the Jagannath Temple on Sundays as per a fresh standard operating procedure (SOP). Earlier, the temple authorities had stopped on darshan on Sunday for sanitisation works in view of COVID-19.

The devotees can have darshan of the deities from 6 AM. The special arrangement for the residents of Puri to have darshan for one hour from 6 AM to 7 AM has been discontinued. But it is mandatory for all devotees to wear masks inside the temple and sanitise their hands before the entry.

Kumar said the visitors will enter the temple through Singhadwar and come out after the darshan through all gates except Singhadwar. Night time sanitisation of the temple premises will be conducted three times a week, he added.

He further said the devotees will be allowed to take Mahaprasad at Anand Bazaar and designated places on temple premises.
