Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan showed his humane side during his recent two-day tour of Araku and Dumbriguda tribal regions.
As he interacted with the tribals in Pedapadu village to check if they had any problems, Kalyan noticed that an elderly woman named Pangi Mithu and several other women were barefoot.
He then inquired about the total number of people living in that village.
Kalyan thereafter instructed his office staff to purchase footwear for all 350 residents and have it delivered to them.
“Our Pawan sir came and recognised our struggles,” said a villager who was overwhelmed with emotions.
Another villager said no other leader had ever paid attention to their problems, and that’s why they were indebted to the Deputy CM for meeting them, hearing them out andand addressing their issues.
Janasena Party (JNP), founded by Kalyan, is the second-largest party in the Andhra Assembly, having won 21 seats in last year’s polls. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) bagged 135 out of 175 seats, with Chandrababu Naidu returning as chief minister after having served jail term.
