Bhubaneswar: A four-member team of CBI officials from Kolkata took Bibekananda Biswal alias Biban, the prime accused in the sensational 1999 Anjana Mishra gangrape case, on a two-day remand for further interrogation on Thursday.
The central investigating team took Biban to the CBI office after a preliminary health checkup at the Jharpada Special Jail and later at the Capital Hospital.
As directed by the CBI Special Judge, the CBI officials will produce Biban at 5 pm on Friday.
Reliable sources said that the CBI team will take Biban for a crime scene recreation in Baranga area, where the incident had taken place.

Apart from this, the team will also interrogate him on the persons who had conspired the gang rape.
Notably, the test identification (TI) of Biban under Section 9 of the Indian Evidence Act was held under the supervision of the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Srujalin Mohanty at the Jharpada Jail premises on Wednesday where he was identified by Anjana Mishra and her driver Nilakantha Rout.
