New Delhi: Anmol Bishnoi — younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a key accused in the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique — landed in New Delhi on Wednesday after being deported from the United States.

He was taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) immediately after arriving at Indira Gandhi International Airport and then produced at Patiala House Court.

Anmol, wanted in 18 criminal cases, is accused of orchestrating the October 12, 2024 assassination of Baba Siddique outside his son’s Bandra office. He is also linked to earlier high-profile crimes, including the 2022 killing of singer Sidhu Moosewala and the April 2024 firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence.

Investigators say he fled India in 2021 using a forged passport, travelling through Nepal, Dubai and Kenya before entering the U.S. He was arrested there in 2024, leading to the deportation that concluded on November 18, 2025.

The US Department of Homeland Security formally informed Zeeshan Siddique — the late leader’s son — of the deportation, confirming that Anmol had been “removed from the United States.”

Reacting to the development, Zeeshan said he hoped the accused would now be brought to Mumbai under tight security for a detailed interrogation, stressing that “we are still awaiting justice” and that a wider conspiracy must be uncovered.

Meanwhile, Anmol’s cousin Ramesh Bishnoi urged the Indian government to ensure his safety, claiming he was being targeted “only for being Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother.”

Anmol’s handover is being seen as a major breakthrough for central agencies probing the Bishnoi gang’s international reach and its alleged role in multiple political and celebrity-linked attacks.
