New Delhi: In a major crackdown codenamed ‘Operation Razepill’, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized another batch of Captagon tablets, referred to as ‘Jihadi drug’.
Two people, including a Syrian national, were arrested and 227.2 kg of Captagon tablets and powder were seized in a late-night raid on May 16 at a Dehradun site, India Today reported.
Officials claimed an international Captagon-manufacturing network has been busted.
According to investigators, the accused Syrian revealed during interrogation that the Captagon tablets recovered earlier from Delhi’s Neb Sarai were illegally manufactured at a factory in Dehradun in November 2025 with the help of a Syrian accomplice.
NCB officials acted immediately and raided the premises of M/s Green Herbal in Dehradun around midnight.
Sophisticated machinery was found, which are allegedly being used for illicit drug production, including tablet-making, granulation, capsule-filling, coating, sealing and blister packaging machines.
Raw materials, chemicals, capsules and packaging material were also recovered from the factory premises.
The factory owner was learnt to have rented out the facility for illegal drug manufacturing and charged around Rs 50,000 per day for its use. Officials revealed that the factory owner, previously linked to two separate narcotics cases involving the supply of Tramadol and other prescription tablets, was investigated by Dehradun Police and NCB’s Delhi zonal unit.
The factory owner has been arrested and produced before a magistrate.
Following the arrest of two individuals, including the Syrian, further investigation is underway to check for more links in the network.
